We’ll All Sing Hallelujah: Sacred Sounds of Alabama introduces visitors to the wide variety of sacred music traditions in Alabama and celebrates the rich legacies and contributions Alabamians have made to our national musical heritage.

Musical genres include spirituals, choral music, freedom songs, black gospel quartets, bluegrass, country gospel, and the shape-note singing traditions of Christian Harmony and Sacred Harp.

At the Singing Square, visitors step into a church scene to experience shape-note singing as a singer in the hollow square or as a leader choosing songs from the tunebooks. In the gospel section, visitors select traditional African American recordings from a retro radio and listen as if tuned into a gospel radio show.
